  3.           FOR ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 3.0

  5.     This is a super quick way to shade text, mostly flat objects, or pretty much anything else with either a front light or a backlight.

  7. TO FRONT LIGHT:
  8. 1. Type some text, black on white.  Defloat it, but keep it selected.
  9. 2. Select>Modify>Contract the selection by 2 pixels.
  10. 3. Select>Feather the selection 2 pixels.
  11. 4. Fill the selection with the color you want the text to be.

  16. 5. Try blurring, then embossing the whole thing for a cool effect:
